Salary: $110,000 - $120,000+

Our client is a successful and well-established real estate developer who is committed to increasing the quality of homes and communities in Victoria. Using traditional building methods, innovative construction technologies and intelligent design, they deliver thoughtful living environments.

They are looking for a Financial Analyst; reporting to the VP of Operations and interacting directly with Principles, the Financial Analyst is a key member who will contribute to the short and long-term financial viability and performance of the company. The Financial Analyst will oversee the company\'s real estate development budgeting, financing projections and investor reporting. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded analyst with a depth of experience in a related construction and/or development sector. The candidate has in depth expertise in modeling, forecasting and planning with a proven experience in conducting the actual work and dealing with diverse shareholder groups.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops financial models for residential, commercial, and mixed-use development projects using Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets and Jonas Premier
  • Provides analyses and project cash flows to determine investment returns, establish and control project budgets across all departments.
  • Prepares monthly and quarterly internal reporting to highlight trends, variances, and benchmarking.
  • Create, analyze and updates corporate and project cash flows and capital profiles for real estate development projects across asset classes with particular focus on residential, retail and office
  • Establishes profitability standards and sets financial goals for the company and projects.
  • Supports the placement and administration of debt financing and equity partnerships, including the preparation of underwriting packages, managing due diligence requests, preparing the lenders package.
  • Consults with management to guide and influence long term and strategic decision through scenario analysis and sensitivity analysis.
  • Assists with the preparation of investor reporting and mortgage financing.
  • Provides support for the underwriting, due diligence, negotiation, and placement of land and pre-development loans, construction facilities, term loans and equity partnerships
  • Reports all financial and project discrepancies or report findings to senior leadership team.
\xe2\x97\x8f Supports the preparation and publication of timely monthly, quarterly, and annual statements

Skills and Qualifications:
Education: Post-secondary degree in finance, business administration or economics
Experience: 5+ years of experience working in a financial leadership capacity; must have construction and real estate development experience
Software: Excel, Google Sheets and Jonas Premier considered an asset
  • Strong work ethic, detail orientated, passionate, organized and self-motivated
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills a must.
