Reporting to the Manager or Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis, the Senior Financial Analyst collaborates with key business partners to forecast and analyze company financial performance to provide valuable insights.

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Lead in annual planning and monthly forecasting process in partnership with stakeholders across the business
  • Lead in the preparation and review of income statements, balance sheets and cash flow forecasts for budgeting and forecasting
  • Lead monthly financial reporting to Corporate
  • Analyze financial results against targets and provide commentary and meaningful insights on trends in the business
  • Identify and communicate risks and opportunities in forecast to relevant stakeholders
  • Drive continuous improvement of the forecasting and planning process
  • Optimization and administration of FP&A/CPM Systems
  • Support advanced ad-hoc projects related to process improvements, workflow and M&A
  • Provide Advanced financial analysis and reports to stakeholders
  • Create advanced revenue forecasting and variance analysis
  • Create advanced ad hoc analysis of revenue and chargeback data
  • Models accounting (IFRS) adjustments related to deferred revenue, royalties, transaction fees and expenses
  • Gathers, analyzes, prepares and summarizes recommendations for financial plans, acquisition activity, trended future requirements and operating forecasts
  • Revenue reporting and reconciliation
  • Models and forecasts intercompany revenue and taxes
  • Reports monthly on chargebacks, fraud, or ad hoc reporting as required
  • Technical Abilities
  • Ongoing financial system development
  • Liaises with external consultants
  • System integration design and maintenance; suggests process and tools improvements for more accurate and efficient forecasting
  • Participates in mentoring and coaching of team members
  • Supports co-workers within areas of understood expertise
  • Improves productivity of other members of the team through coaching and mentorship
  • Collaborates effectively with others in same discipline and cross-discipline on a regular basis, including the Financial Reporting team
To be successful in this role, your background includes:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Finance or related field
  • CPA or MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Finance, including 2+ years of experience in FP&A
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial statements and IFRS standards
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Google Workspace. Advanced knowledge of formulas and pivot tables, and able to build complex financial models in Excel
  • Comfort manipulating and analyzing large sets of data
  • Ability to partner cross-functionally, through strong relationship building, influencing, negotiating and communication skills, with all levels of management
  • Experience with Adaptive Planning or similar cloud-based financial planning/reporting tool, advanced abilities working in financial planning systems
  • Experience with Netsuite and other ERPs an asset
  • Advanced ability to pull data and working in dashboarding systems
  • General understanding/comfortable with systems administration and reporting (incl. CPM dashboards)
  • Experience in SQL/programming languages, BI Tools, an asset
