What you'll doReporting to Manager of Accounting Operations, the Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role within team focused on efficient and accurate accounting for long term assets and related financial statement lines. As part of the broader accounting operations team, the incumbent will prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations and analysis. This will include ensuring accurate reporting and adherence to accounting standards and internal controls.Accounting for fixed assets and leases for the real estate businessPreparation and review of journal entries, GL account reconciliations and variance analysisOversight of fixed asset setups and disposals as well as lease amendmentsPreparation of continuity schedules in support of consolidation and MD&AProvide coaching and mentoring to one Financial AnalystOpportunities to participate in finance mentorship program, DIB committees and join employee resource groupsWhat you bringUniversity degree in accounting or similar programCPA designation or close to obtaining one3+ years of experience in accounting, audit or similar fieldExperience with fixed assets or real estate (nice to have, but not necessary)Interest in finding opportunities for automation, including use of macros, Power Query and PeopleSoft queriesExperience with Microsoft products such as Excel, Teams, SharePoint and OutlookExperience with Oracle products such as PeopleSoft Financials or Hyperion Financial Management (nice to have, but not necessary)Willingness to work additional compensated hours during month-end periodsAbility to work at the Yonge & Eglinton head office at least 2 days per week (subject to change)Even if you don't meet all the mentioned criteria, we encourage applicants with other relevant experience to apply and highlight those qualifications.We value flexibility.
