About Job Cyderes is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, Revenue Operations, the SFA will be responsible for the order-to-cash process and accounting for contracts in accordance with US GAAP ASC 606 Revenue Recognition standards.
Responsibilities
  • Review professional services and/or managed services contracts for key terms and work independently to set up the contract revenue arrangement and billing schedules in NetSuite
  • Work collaboratively with Sales and Project Management Office to ensure the appropriate amounts are recorded for revenue and ensure timeliness, accuracy and completeness of customer billings
  • Prepare month-end revenue recognition entries and reconcile deferred revenue and unbilled revenue accounts for multiple subsidiaries located in Canada, US and UK
  • Prepare other month-end related journal entries and reconciliations related to the order-to-cash cycle
  • Review and work with PMO on invoicing backlog for PS projects per SOW terms
  • Review list of retainers and earned them upon expiry every month and balance confirmation to sales for child projects and drawdowns through project change request
  • Review margin by project to ensure accurate recording of subcontractor cost
  • Consolidate PS earnings reports for all entities to management every month by the due date
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of financial controls around the Order-to-Cash process
  • Support the year-end KPMG external audit
  • Prepare, analyze and distribute monthly and ad hoc reports to operations
  • Assist in the testing and implementation of new system enhancements
  • Assist FP&A team in analyzing and explaining budget to actual variances
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and work collaboratively with operations to implement such improvements

Requirement
  • Minimum education university degree with a professional accounting designation (i.e. CPA)
  • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis and accounting
  • Experience in software industry and ASC 606 a strong asset
  • Experience with retainers/deposits and drawdowns would be considered an asset
  • Professional services, SaaS billing accounting experience an asset
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative approach to working on extended virtual teams and communicating effectively with all levels including senior management and executives
  • Ability to prioritize workload to meet strict deadlines
