This innovative company is growing and looking to add a Senior Financial Analyst to their team that is technically savvy, naturally curious, embraces change, and will act as a brand ambassador and leader as they move into the future.

Responsibilities

• Submission of regulatory filings, ensuring adherence to submission guidelines.
• Assist the Director in the preparation of rate submissions and related projects and analysis, as well as annual review and requests for disposition of Regulatory Deferral and Variance accounts.
• Submission and reconciliation of monthly Regulated Price Plan Settlement and rebates
• Prepare annual regulatory reporting to the board
• Liaison between Finance and Regulatory Affairs on regulatory accounting matters.
• Interpret and provide feedback to the Director on amendments to existing regulations and new regulations.
• Assist with budget preparation and analysis.
• Participate in load forecast preparation.
• Run queries in Harris, Cognos and ODS as required for submissions and settlement process.
• Participate in key account monitoring (Invoice breakdown, customer inquiries regarding regulatory matters, and monitoring and reporting GA savings under the IESO ICI program).
• Monitor Regulatory Variance and Deferral accounts for outstanding balances, billing anomalies, regulatory adjustments, and interest calculations.
• Monitor monthly distribution revenue.
• Coordinate with the Customer Care department to implement rate changes in the Customer Information System (CIS)
• Audit the rates set up in the CIS and audit customer bills to ensure accuracy
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• University Degree in Business Administration/Finance, Accounting or Commerce or equivalent relevant work experience in a service business
• Enrollment in or completion of CPA
• 3-5 years of related experience
• Ability to interpret legislation
• Has strong planning, analytical and problem-solving skills with a clear focus on the delivery of excellent customer service
• Proficiency in the use of Excel (Advanced), Word, PowerPoint and accounting software packages
• Be able to Influence and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
• Communicate in a compelling manner that motivates and empowers others
• Must display keen attention to detail and have the ability to prioritize accordingly in a demanding and fast-paced environment
• Self-motivated, ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Collaborate and build strong relationships throughout the organizations
• Embrace a culture of continuous improvement and effective streamlined processes
• Be agile and responsive while displaying a sense of urgency
• Exudes a passion for working on and explaining technical concepts in a simplified easy to understandable manner to internal customers
