Job Description

Our client located in Downtown Toronto, is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst for an 3 month\'s contract opportunity. Working on a Hybrid model (1 day in office every month), and reporting to Director of Finance, he/she will be responsible for the below:

Responsibilities:

- Perform month-end processes and full-cycle accounting tasks, including preparing variance reports, month-end schedules, journal entries, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, and identifying, communicating and resolving discrepancies with team members of relevant departments
- Support the development, testing and implementation of financial reporting requirements, controls and procedures arising from new business initiatives, system implementation or other business changes
- Identify patterns and underlying trends through performing a thorough, detailed analysis of large quantities of data using advanced Excel knowledge
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the strategies, business issues, risks and profitability opportunities of specific business units
- Monitor and track results versus budget/forecast, perform variance analysis, investigate variances to identify risks and opportunities, and communicate findings to the Finance team
- Provide all management reporting on an accurate, timely and reliable basis

Qualifications

- Post-secondary degree or diploma (University preferred) in finance, accounting or business
- CFA/CPA/CMA preferred
- 5 years + experience in various finance roles
- Dynamics 365 Business Central knowledge and experience (Must Have)
- Skilled at preparing working papers and performing analyses and reconciliations (Balance Sheet and P- Ability to communicate analyses and results in Summary format to executives
- Ability to work on own initiative and within a team
- Experience preparing reports and Financial Statements
- Advanced or power-user MS Excel skills
- Meticulous and detailed oriented
