Position Summary:


Reporting to the Manager, Financial Reporting and Policy, the Senior Financial Analyst will be a key member of the Finance team. The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for preparing the quarterly and annual financial reporting materials (including but not limited to Audit Committee and Board of Directors’ information decks and Financial Statements disclosures) and evaluating the design and operating effectiveness of all financial controls. This includes but is not limited to understanding and documenting processes and key risks, recommending controls to mitigate exposure, and working with the organization on controls and process implementation. The chosen candidate will assist with the accounting for acquisitions and/or complex transaction and will research and provide input on implementation of new accounting standards and policy changes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of quarterly and annual Audit Committee and Board meeting communications. This includes coordinating between various finance functions and ensuring the inputs are accurate and received on time.
  • Own preparation of assigned areas of information to be included in the annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP, and related disclosure notes, supported by underlying workings and worksheets.
  • Research and preparation of technical accounting memorandums and position papers for the new accounting standards and complex transactions affecting PointClickCare, which are to be submitted to the senior management and the external auditors.
  • Preparation of schedules, calculations and accounting entries for the upcoming ASC-842 adoption.
  • Conduct interviews and walk throughs, and prepare process flows to identify and document key risks and controls from an operations and finance perspective.
  • Prepare end to end process documents for Quote to Cash, Procure to Pay, Record to Report and Payroll cycles.
  • Perform and document root cause analysis, remediation, and monitoring activities for key financial reporting controls.
  • Formally report recommendations that are practical and address underlying root causes for process or control issues identified.
  • Work with process owners to introduce, implement and maintain control frameworks and practices.
  • Partner with department leaders to build and execute implementation plans for key processes or initiatives and remediation of control gaps.
  • Serve as a central liaison between external auditors and the organization.
  • Maintain and own the Risk Control Matrix.
  • Provide support for other special projects and reporting needs as required.

Required Experience:

  • CPA designation is required.
  • CIA designation is an asset.
  • 4+ years of finance experience.
  • Big 4 or mid-sized firm experience an asset.
  • Understanding of advanced workflow and automation tools like Alteryx, Power BI and Tableau is considered an asset.
  • Significant controls experience and thorough understanding of accounting processes and key financial risks.
  • Experience with writing formal reports to Senior Management.
  • Flexible, organized, and able to handle multiple and competing priorities.
  • Quick learner with the ability to thrive in high paced environments.
  • Team Player with strong interpersonal skills and sound business judgements.
  • Strong Excel skills.
