Location: Multimatic Inc., Markham, Ontario, Canada Overview: Multimatic is a privately held, global enterprise supplying engineered components, systems and services to the automotive industry. The company\xe2\x80\x99s core competencies include the development and manufacture of complex mechanisms and body hardware, suspension systems and body structural components as well as the design, engineering and development of light weight composite automotive systems. We are currently seeking an Senior Financial Analyst for our corporate office in Markham. Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate the global annual audits for the parent and subsidiary companies
Liaise with external auditors on planning, execution and finalization of annual audits
Prepare external financial statements with note disclosure
Prepare Head Office year-end audit files, and review Divisions/Groups audit files as applicable
Assist in drafting accounting position papers and oversee accounting policy changes
Assist in the budget and reforecast process for Head Office, and provide relevant analysis
Interact with other internal departments including IT, Legal, Human Resources, Global Strategy,
Communications, and Sales & Marketing to ensure seamless flow of financial information on a timely basis to Finance
Prepare Corporate month-end journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
Prepare and review month-end reports required by the Head Office
Support financial planning and analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting
Work with key financial contacts within Corporate Finance, Groups and Divisions to resolve accounting issues
Assist in the review and implementation of internal controls
Support and coordinate implementation of Corporate Finance initiatives
Ensure accuracy and completeness of Head Office accounting records
Prepare ad hoc projects as needed
Adopt, practice, and participate in Kaizen principles
Perform other duties as assigned
Basic Requirements:
CPA designation
Minimum 3 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a public accounting (mid or large sized firm preferred)
Knowledge in ASPE or IFRS
Strong work ethic to get things done and focused on doing what is necessary to meet deadlines
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels
Strong analytical skills and attentive to details
Organized, accurate and takes pride and ownership in their work
Ability to multi-task
Works well independently, a problem solver, and takes initiative to get things done without being asked
Works well in a team-oriented multicultural environment and adapts readily to different personalities
Software experience:
Excellent proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook (or equivalent email service) is required
Ability and willingness to learn to use various computer applications that are necessary to perform day-to-day tasks
Experience with SAP, Onestream or other consolidation software are assets.
