Reporting to the Sr Manager FP&A, the Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role in ensuring the overall financial well-being of the Pharmaceutical Distribution Transport Operations and partnering with our business leads to help manage risks & opportunities and all other critical components of the finance function. The Senior Financial Analyst will contribute significantly to the strategic planning and growth of the business. The main areas of responsibility include financial planning, forecast activities, annual budgeting, long-range planning, developing/publishing management reporting, and special projects.

Section A \xe2\x80\x93 Specific responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities generally include but are not limited to:

  • Partner with business leaders to manage financial performance and help meet financial targets
  • Report and analyze all aspect of the transport business as it relates to transport costs, freight services, routes, fuel, pieces, outside warehousing, etc. Link all aspects that influence those activities (e.g. sales, carrier rates, fuel price, etc.)
  • Analyze financial data and operational KPI data at the most detailed available level and scrutinize all data source available including transactional data.
Analyze transportation cost and all its key operational drivers

Analyze unit cost by different dimension (transportation activities, customers, routes, etc.) and advise on where to focus to improve cost efficiency

Track and monitor project initiatives and efficiency improvement

Challenge the leaders on performance and advise on improvement to meet performance target

Helping to provide appropriate and timely KPIs to the management team to help in the real-time management of the business
  • Deliver pertinent reporting and storytelling to various levels of management to produce actionable insight for strategic decision making.
  • Participate in the forecast, budget and long-range planning processes, be abreast of business\xe2\x80\x99 financial performance and proactive to identify and address any noticeable gaps.
  • Partner with the stakeholders to assess risks and opportunities, and finding solutions to mitigate risks and execute on opportunities
  • Partake in CAR process related to transport initiatives, including business case creation, tracking and forecasting costs
  • Support profitability analyses, business cases and cost efficiency project initiatives
  • Be the key Finance Partner who represent all aspect of Finance and act as a Strategic Advisor for the business. Provide advice to improve cost efficiencies and address derailers.
  • Develop and implement process improvement solutions to become best-in-class Finance function
  • Engage in cross-functional projects as well as FP&A and Finance management initiatives
Section B \xe2\x80\x93 Job requirements
  • Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Finance or Accounting with an accounting designation.
  • Proven track record of accomplishments, and ability to interact with management and all level of the organization
  • Capable of solving problems, making the right decisions, and using sound judgement to escalate issues with recommendations when necessary.
  • Strong team player with good interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Strong analytical and strategic background, organized and autonomous
  • Strong sense of urgency and respect of deadlines
  • Adept at managing change and working as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Bilingual (written and oral) French and English
  • Advanced knowledge of financial systems (ERP, Reporting tool, Excel, Data Analytical tool, ABC, PowerBI, etc.)
  • Degree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience, as a key business partner supporting the business, preferably Operations
The incumbent of this position will provide daily support to internal and/or external clients outside Quebec and/or in the United States. Therefore, he/she must be proficient in spoken and written English. Please note that the number of positions requiring English language skills has been limited where possible.

As part of Total Rewards, we are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson. This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$66,400 - $110,600
