We are growing and looking to add a Senior Financial Analyst to our team!

We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst with strong financial accounting and analytical skills to join our growing team in Toronto. In this role, you will have ownership over a portfolio of real estate assets in the industrial development portfolio. be responsible for the day-to-day accounting for the industrial development portfolio.

For this portfolio, you will be accountable for a diverse set of activities, including full cycle accounting and reporting, general ledger accounting, real estate performance analysis, certain aspects of consolidated regional reporting and analysis, regulatory compliance, support to operations group, financial planning, and ad hoc support related to reporting and operational activities. This role requires strong attention to detail, communication skills and the ability to multitask in a complex environment. Experience working in the real estate industry is preferred.

As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:

Full cycle accounting and reporting:

Responsible for the overall accounting for commercial industrial development properties, specific duties include:

Perform analysis of monthly operating variances and account analysis

Preform monthly analysis and prepare funding packages

Prepare quarterly financial packages

Preparation of GST/HST remittances

Preparation of bank reconciliations

Preparation of monthly journal entries

Preparation of cash projections and requests of development funding as needed

Preparation of monthly reports and distributions of cash flows

Prepare year end audit packages and working papers, liaison with auditors

Month end review and reporting to Corporate Consolidations team: preparation of journal entries, bank reconciliations, month end key indicator and variance analysis against budgets, equity, investment and intercompany account reconciliations, cash management, general and administrative expense analysis, foreign exchange analysis etc.

Technical analysis to ensure appropriate accounting treatment under development accounting

Completing ad-hoc analyses as required by management.

Financial Planning & Analysis and Operational Support:

Review and analysis of annual operating plans and quarterly reforecasts with development team, operation team and asset managers

Prepare and review on-going development budget including costs tracking and analysis on costing spent with appropriate allocations

Process Innovation and Controls:

Participation in projects with a focus on continuous improvement and making recommendations for efficiencies in day to day responsibilities; and

Ensure compliance with Oxford\xe2\x80\x99s processes and controls

Assist in the design of an efficient and enhanced development approval, forecasting and reporting process

To succeed in this role, you:

Have completed a University degree and obtained a Professional Accounting Designation

Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a related capacity (financial reporting/analysis or audit experience from mid-size or Big Four firm) preferably with real estate exposure and have a proven record of strong performance;

Have dealt with complex organizational structures and consolidations;

Are analytical and have the ability to produce analysis with appropriate style and language to support conclusions;

High attention to detail and strong follow-up skills;

Possess strong written and verbal communication skills;

Strong process management/improvement skills with a mindset for continuous improvement;

Embrace collaborative sharing of knowledge within a team environment;

Are driven to achieving results and continuously striving to deliver the highest performance through critical thinking;

Excel in working in a fast pace, dynamic environment and have demonstrated time management and organizational skills, and an ability to prioritize responsibilities;

Are proficient with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Outlook; and

Have exposure to ERP & Consolidation systems, preferably JD Edwards and Hyperion Financial Management.
