Clearwater Seafoods\' Corporate Reporting and Accounting department requires a Senior Financial Analyst, Corporate Reporting & Accounting role based at their Bedford, Nova Scotia Corporate Office. The position is a permanent full-time position and reports to the Finance Manager, Corporate Reporting.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Lead all accounting research for non-routine or complex transactions including: financial instruments, refinancing, acquisitions etc.
  • Support all Clearwater entities with IFRS compliance.
  • Assisting the Finance Manager, Corporate Reporting in oversight and implementation of new accounting standards under IFRS.
  • Assisting the Finance Manager, Corporate Accounting in preparation and/or review of monthly accounting results.
  • Support the establishment of and maintenance of global accounting policies, standards & documentation.
  • Support role in preparation of key performance metrics and management reporting.
  • Support in the production of accurate, relevant, and timely consolidated monthly financial statements including the consolidated balance sheet, income statement and statement of cash flows.
  • Supporting role in the production of relevant group and statutory financial reporting including consolidated financial statements.
  • Assisting in the completion of the external audit.
  • Working with an effective, efficient, and motivated team in the Corporate Reporting group
  • Participate in short and long-term strategic planning initiatives as requested.
  • Assist in maintaining internal controls over financial reporting for the Corporate Reporting group.
  • Constantly seek to improve the efficiency in internal and group reporting.
The ideal candidate will posses:
  • CPA designation.
  • A minimum of three to five years progressive experience.
  • Experience applying International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) would be considered an asset.
  • SAP user knowledge is an asset.
  • Strong technical ability including experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
