As a member of the Corporate Accounting and Reporting team, the Senior Financial Analyst, Consolidation & Reporting is responsible for the timely consolidation of monthly and quarterly financial results for internal and external consolidated reporting.
You will be accountable for intercompany eliminations at the consolidated level and liaise with other corporate departments and business units to ensure execution of an accurate and efficient consolidation process. You will also provide leadership to team members and perform review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and analysis completed by Financial Analysts within the team.
Preparation of timely and accurate consolidation using Hyperion Financial Management (HFM)
Review/prepare month-end and quarter-end corporate consolidation entries in HFM
Review monthly consolidation tie-outs and system checks
Review intercompany eliminations and coordinate with business units across organization to clear variances
Review monthly control binders for CEO/CFO certification key controls (control compliance)
Analyze and prepare schedules for various financial statement information including Consolidated Statement of Cash Flows, OCI, and Quarterly CFO package
Assist with the preparation of monthly corporate expense and balance sheet variance analysis
Assist with maintenance of HFM
Review regulatory reporting schedules including OSFI, Bank of Canada, MasterCard, & Stats Canada at the CTC consolidated level
Liaise with other groups within Finance (FP&A, Accounting, Tax, Treasury) to respond to corporate close and consolidation specific inquiries as required
Identify and execute process improvements
Participate in ad hoc projects, analysis, and preparation of reports for senior management as requested
Provide supervision and coaching to other team members within the department
What You bring
University degree in Finance, Accounting, or business related discipline
Accounting designation (CPA)
4+ years of relevant experience in industry or public accounting
Strong working knowledge of consolidation principles and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Superior verbal and written communication skills
Proven strong performer in the workforce with a high level of attention to detail
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Working knowledge of HFM and PeopleSoft is considered an asset
