Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of the Development and Construction business, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple financial functions effectively.

Responsibilities

Oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements and reports in compliance with applicable regulations and standards. Manage the full cycle of accounting processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliation. Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and implement corrective measures as needed. Develop and maintain budgets, forecasting future financial performance based on historical data and market trends. Utilize accounting software such as Jonas Premier to streamline financial operations and reporting. Collaborate with cross-functional teams at various developments sites across Canada and provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making. Ensure timely completion of month-end close processes and reporting requirements. Monitor internal controls to safeguard project's financial health and ensure compliance with policies.

Skills

Proficiency in construction and accounting software

is mandatory. Strong understanding of account reconciliation processes and accounts payable/receivable management. Excellent budgeting skills with the ability to analyze financial data effectively. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate account analysis. Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
