The Senior Analyst, Finance is accountable for accurate and timely analysis of operational revenues and expenses, variance analysis and preparation of annual external financial statements.

Responsibilities:

ul

li
Provide input to the Financial Reporting, Operations Accounting and Regulatory & Forecast plans and directions, and ensure on-going appropriate relationships with other positions.
/li

li
Provide pro-forma analysis of revenues and expenses by level to Operations\' Directors and Managers to support decision making. This includes facilitating and providing guidance on variances to budget, as well as processing journal vouchers, analyzing and correcting transaction coding errors, and imports for project transfers and vendor allocations.
/li

li
Analyze intercompany transactions to ensure that they have been coded correctly and resolve any discrepancies with affiliates prior to Corporate Finance deadline.
/li

li
Reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare variance explanations for month-end.
/li

li
Contributing to the ongoing process improvement initiative and assist with special projects as required
/li

li
Leading preparation of annual financial statements and note disclosures, including ensuring the adequacy of financial statements disclosure against IFRS disclosure requirements.
/li

Successful candidates will have:

Post-secondary degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
/li

li
Professional accounting designation (CPA)
/li

Minimum of 4-6 years of related professional accounting experience. Public practice experience is an asset.
/li

Proficiency with the use of Microsoft Excel, Office Connect, Adaptive Insights, and Oracle BI for financial analysis and reporting
/li

li
Ability to review procedures to assess compliance with CSOX requirements.
/li

li
Good knowledge of IFRS.
/li

Agilus is recruiting for a Senior Finance Analyst in the Utilities Industry in Edmonton, Alberta.
