Position Overview
The Senior Family Wellbeing Manager reports directly to the Director of Cultural Support. They will provide leadership, oversight, and strategic direction to family wellbeing programs. This role ensures high-quality, culturally informed services that promote healing, prevention, and resilience within Saugeen First Nation. The Manager will supervise staff, oversee case management practices, develop program strategies, and collaborate with community partners to support families holistically.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership and direction to family wellbeing staff and ensure effective program delivery.
Develop, implement, and monitor family wellbeing strategies and services that are aligned with Anishinaabe culture and values.
Oversee case management processes, ensuring that assessments, service planning, and interventions are culturally safe and family-centered.
Support staff development through supervision, mentoring, and training.
Build strong partnerships with community services, Elders, and cultural practitioners to provide holistic supports.
Lead community engagement initiatives to strengthen prevention and early intervention strategies.
Develop and manage program budgets, funding proposals, and reporting requirements.
Monitor program outcomes, evaluate effectiveness, and implement improvements as needed.
Provide crisis response leadership in urgent family matters.
Ensure compliance with Zaag'idiwin Child and Family Services policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
Other related duties as assigned to support the operational success of Zaag'idiwin Child and Family Services.
Qualifications
Master's degree in social work (BSW, RSW) Child and Youth Care (CYW), Indigenous Studies, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in child and family services or community wellbeing programs.
Strong knowledge of Anishinaabe culture, teachings, and traditions, particularly as they relate to family support and wellbeing.
Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, and mentor staff teams.
Experience in program planning, evaluation, and financial management.
Strong knowledge of family wellbeing frameworks, child development, and trauma-informed practice.
Ability to work collaboratively with families, Elders, and community partners to develop holistic supports.
Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
A satisfactory Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening and Child Welfare Check is required.
