Reporting to the Manager, Workplace Operations the Senior Facilities Technician is responsible for managing the Workplace Operations Building Office Services Group queue, life safety equipment, building permits, facilities preventative maintenance programs, break-fix repairs, minor construction projects and building critical response.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage all aspects of the Building Office Services Group Queue, including:
  • Assigning incidents, requests and tasks and ensuring incidents times are not breached.
  • Investigating trends and problem areas and applying continuous improvement to Service Now levels.
  • Managing critical building tickets such as water and power issues during business hours.
  • Editing and updating Facilities Call flow and Building Critical Call flow within Building Office Services queue.
  • Regularly reviewing and updating configuration items to ensure Service Desk is assigning tickets appropriately.
  • Service Now reporting as required by supervisor.
  • Acting as advisor on Cenovus Self Service tool.
  • Manage office signage, including:
  • Creating and maintaining inventory of nameplates in areas related to moves, on boarding, off boarding and leave of absence as dictated by JDE requirements.
  • Implementing new signage or \xe2\x80\x9cone off\xe2\x80\x9d needs with custom or replacement signage as directed by new build outs in conjunction with Modulex.
  • Completing installation of names plate signage for new hires and moves as required.
  • Removing name plate signage for exited staff.
  • Checking for consistency and errors on room numbers through audits.
  • Manage life safety equipment, fire warden lists and evacuation plans.
  • Manage retail inventory.
  • Respond to Facilities Desk tickets and queries.
  • Investigate and respond to Facilities Desk building and client critical issues.
  • Manage the Workplace Operations maintenance and repairs budget including monthly review of expenditures and implementing cost evaluation and control measures.
  • Landlord, vendor, property management and client liaison for all Calgary building location repairs and maintenance.
  • Manage all facilities maintenance services, providing reactive and preventative maintenance across all Calgary building locations.
  • Attend Building Property and Landlord meeting for all Calgary locations to discuss building facilities environment.
  • Organize and facilitate yearly and \xe2\x80\x9cone off\xe2\x80\x9d Contractor Work Authorization Permits for Calgary buildings locations.
  • Manage Shred-It bin delivery, inventory and contract for Calgary and field sites.
  • Liaison with Corporate Security for special tasks, building critical issues and floor access for vendors and contractors.
  • Liaison with Contractors regarding minor construction, repairs and break fixes within all buildings.
  • Manage keys and cores for office cabinets and inventory.
  • Review and process invoices for facilities maintenance.
  • Actively participate in the Building Critical Response On-Call Team for Calgary office space. Support building critical procedures and services in accordance with Cenovus practices.
Qualifications:
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • 10+ years experience in Workplace Operations and/or Building Services/Facilities, Property Management or directly related field.
  • Shown problem management abilities; able to prioritize and deliver results in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Proven ability to identify areas of improvement and effect changes to achieve greater efficiency in both process and systems.
  • Strong customer service skills including proven ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with internal and external parties.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • High regard for accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently in a private environment as well as in a team.
  • Flexibility to work weekend and extended hours when required to complete a project or respond to an emergency.
  • WHMIS training required.
