We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Sr. Facilities & Process engineer who will serve as a key member of the Operations Team. In this role, the successful candidate will provide direction and support to the production operations staff, reservoir development team, and the business development team, with a focus on short term optimization and troubleshooting, mid-term project generation and implementation, and support for long-term growth opportunities, ensuring value creation and long-term sustainability of the organization.
About the Role:
Optimization & Troubleshooting
Engage with production operations staff routinely to review, investigate, and resolve facilities bottlenecks or repeatable downtime issues to ensure maximum production is achieved.
Provide development and reservoir engineering with opportunities to optimize the field facilities and pipeline systems in the most cost effective manner.
Ensure all Enhance integrity programs are maintained and followed to mitigate unexpected downtime and outages and meet regulatory requirements.
Lead and mentor operations staff, fostering a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement
Act as a member of the Safety Leadership Team to ensure consistency of all safety protocols are implemented across Enhance operations.
Project Generation & Implementation
Identify and promote key projects that will improve safety performance, increase production, or lower costs across Enhance's assets.
Participate in annual budgeting processes by providing cost estimates for facilities projects in the upcoming year(s).
Engage third party engineering companies and suppliers, as required, to fulfill detailed engineering requirements and project implementation for larger scale projects.
Use Management of Change processes to ensure smaller in-house projects are properly documented, thoroughly assessed for risk, and are compliant with all regulations.
Work closely with field construction supervisor to assist with project scope, cost estimates, contractor selection, field installation, and cost tracking.
Long Term Opportunities & Planning
Work within asset teams to create long term planning scenarios for existing areas.
Collaborate with business development on new opportunities beyond existing assets, providing guidance on process requirements and facilities costs.
Identify and review new technologies or innovations that could assist with improvements to Enhance's safety, operational and cost performance.
Experience and skills:
Focused CO2 process and facilities experience is an asset.
Familiarity of mechanical, electrical and controls specifications and codes - including optimization of rotating equipment, and management of field SCADA/Electrical, Instrumentation, and controls
Active leadership and engagement with field operations, along with strong ability to collaborate across disciplines and communicate insights effectively.
Strong project management skills with a focus on safe, cost effective, solutions.
Ability to use SCADA and process software tools like Symmetry or Hysis to troubleshoot ongoing field issues quickly.
Process Safety evaluations using current oil and gas safety requirements and Alberta/Saskatchewan government regulations with awareness of when to research more details when necessary.
Ability to concurrently coordinate day-to-day operations, respond to emergent issues, meet deadlines and manage multiple, complex initiatives in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
Specific Qualifications
Proven track record in developing and executing large and small facilities projects in unique, high-growth organizations.
A high standard of integrity that guides decision-making and ensures accountability at all organizational levels.
15+ years of process/facilities/operational experience.
Bachelor's Degree with significant on-the-job experience in oil and gas engineering
Professional membership with APEGA (P.Eng.) or eligibility for registration required.
