Job Description

The Senior Estimator will play a key role in the construction department, providing accurate cost estimates and contributing to project success within the property industry. This position is based in Vancouver and requires a detail-oriented professional with strong expertise in construction estimation.

  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects in the property industry.
  • Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather necessary information.
  • Review project specifications and drawings to determine scope and requirements.
  • Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Ensure all estimates align with project timelines and budgets.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of market trends and material costs in Calgary.
  • Contribute to the preparation of tender submissions and bid documents.
  • Support the team in achieving project goals and client satisfaction.

Work with an established General Contractor across Vancouver.Work alongside an established team.
A successful Senior Estimator should have:
  • Deep knowledge of local construction and sub-contract marketplace in Vancouver and area
  • Comes from general contractor, not developer (even self performing)
  • 5 years in estimating, 4 years in construction management
  • ICI, recreational, healthcare experience (long-term care experience preferred)
  • CEC designation (CIQS); Preferred: PQS designation
  • Degree or diploma in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management (or related)
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and process discipline; advanced Excel and cost-estimating software proficiency
  • Able to clearly present complex cost data and influence decisions
  • Preferred: IPD or collaborative delivery experience
