We're Looking for a Senior Estimator
As our Senior Estimator, you will be a key contributor to our Pre-Construction team, owning the estimating lifecycle from start to finish. You'll lead costing and proposal efforts for diverse projects across the multi-family, commercial, and institutional sectors, collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely, and competitive submissions.
Your insights, experience, and attention to detail will directly support the success of our projects and the long-term growth of the company.
What You'll Be Doing
Take full ownership of the Pre-Construction Phase including bid-build, design-build, and construction management for designated projects
Review RFPs, drawings, and specifications to develop detailed cost estimates
Perform accurate quantity takeoffs using DESTINI Estimator (or similar software) for all scopes of work, including those performed by subcontractors, and accurately compile takeoffs for self-performed tasks. A solid grasp of carpentry labor and typical equipment productivity will be highly advantageous
Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documents to prepare accurate cost estimates
You will be responsible for soliciting and rigorously reviewing subcontractor and supplier quotations for completeness, while actively cultivating and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with both current and prospective partners.
Identify project discrepancies and value engineering opportunities
Prepare preliminary schedules and support project planning efforts
Attend project and site meetings when needed
Assist with change order pricing and project handovers to the operations team
Proactively develop and refine pre-construction workflows and estimate tools, taking the lead in creating and enhancing internal worksheets and templates to streamline processes.
Contribute your analytical expertise to evaluate existing strategies and implement innovative approaches that ensure our bids are consistently competitive and delivered on schedule
Actively build and nurture strong, collaborative relationships with our valued network of clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
Contribute to our long-term success by maintaining historical cost data and improve internal estimating tools and workflows

Multiple delivery models - bid-build, design-build, construction management, cost plus.
Residential, institutional, commercial, and light industrial projects.
Affordable housing developments.
Government and BC Housing projects.
Private client builds for multi-million-dollar homes and ski lodges.
What You Bring to the Role
5-10 years of estimating experience in residential and/or commercial construction
Post-secondary education in Construction Estimating, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field -- or equivalent experience
Hands-on knowledge of construction methods, trades, and procurement practices
Detail-oriented, analytical, and confident in pricing projects up to and beyond $50M
Strong communicator with the ability to build rapport with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants
Proficient with estimating and construction software including DESTINI Estimator, Bluebeam, Excel, Smartsheet (Spectrum software knowledge is an asset)
