Job Description

This leadership position involves overseeing the preparation of financial projections and resource assessments for construction initiatives. The individual supports operational teams with both technical insights and administrative coordination, contributing to strategic planning and proposal development while identifying potential risks and opportunities to enhance project acquisition efforts.
Primary Duties

  • Guide outreach efforts to vendors and contractors regarding pricing, documentation updates, and submission deadlines.
  • Manage junior team members responsible for quantifying project components, ensuring clarity and completeness for downstream use.
  • Review and interpret project documentation to formulate cost assessments, including site evaluations and pricing strategies.
  • Cultivate and maintain a network of suppliers and subcontractors to optimize cost efficiency.
  • Ensure consistent and documented communication of preconstruction data across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Track and share trends in construction costs and materials to inform future planning.
  • Lead end-to-end cost planning from initial project introduction through to construction commencement.
  • Maintain organized records of all estimate-related materials and correspondence.
  • Coordinate site visits and scope confirmations to ensure accurate project understanding.
  • Clarify scope details and provide supplementary documentation where needed.
  • Collaborate with project teams to transition successful bids into execution.
  • Apply advanced problem-solving skills and mentor team members in estimating practices.
  • Present and support cost proposals with data-driven insights.
  • Develop early-stage cost models using historical benchmarks.
  • Maintain and utilize a database of past project costs.
  • Oversee subcontractor selection and database management.
  • Advise non-estimating staff on relevant cost planning responsibilities.
  • Deliver technical training to junior personnel.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and industry contacts.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners for pricing and collaboration.
  • Lead the estimating team in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Participate in key pre-award meetings with trade partners.
  • Conduct risk evaluations related to pricing, supply chain, and project timelines.
  • Stay informed on evolving construction practices, materials, and regulations.

Excellent Pipeline of Projects!Renowned Leadership Team!
  • 7-10 years of progressive experience in construction cost planning.
  • Background in institutional, commercial, and industrial projects, including healthcare facilities.
  • Degree in a relevant discipline such as architecture, engineering, or construction management (preferred).
  • Membership in a professional estimating organization (preferred).
  • Proficiency in digital tools including spreadsheets and estimating platforms.
  • Familiarity with digital modeling tools like Revit for cost analysis.
