Job Title: Senior Estimator (High Rise Residential)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Estimator with expertise in high rise residential construction projects to join our client\xe2\x80\x99s team in Ottawa. The Senior Estimator will play a critical role in the successful planning and execution of our projects by providing accurate and detailed cost estimates, ensuring the projects are financially viable, and contributing to the overall profitability of the company.

Responsibilities: * Conduct comprehensive analysis and assessment of project plans, specifications, and drawings to identify project requirements, risks, and opportunities.

• Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information and insights for accurate cost estimation.
• Prepare detailed and accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates for various project components, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
• Research and analyze historical data, market conditions, and industry trends to ensure competitive pricing and accurate cost projections.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to obtain competitive pricing and ensure availability of materials and services.
• Evaluate and review subcontractor bids, negotiate contracts, and make recommendations to project management regarding selection and awarding of contracts.
• Collaborate with the project team to identify value engineering opportunities and alternative construction methods to optimize project costs without compromising quality or safety.
• Prepare and present cost estimate reports, including detailed breakdowns, assumptions, and justifications, to internal stakeholders and clients.
• Participate in project meetings, providing insights and guidance on cost-related matters, and offering solutions to any challenges that arise during the estimating process.
• Continuously monitor and track actual project costs against estimated costs, identifying and reporting any significant variances and their potential impacts.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior estimators, sharing expertise, best practices, and industry knowledge.

Qualifications and Skills: * Bachelor\'s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum of 7 years of experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, with a focus on high rise residential projects.
• Extensive knowledge of construction estimating principles, techniques, and methodologies.
• Proven experience in estimating high rise residential projects, including concrete structures, facades, MEP systems, and finishes.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex project plans, specifications, and drawings.
• Proficiency in using industry-standard estimating software and tools.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and the ability to work with tight deadlines.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or Certified Construction Estimator (CCE) are preferred but not required.
