Job title: Senior Equipment Operator

Work Schedule: 14 days on and 14 days off - 12 hours shift daily

Location: Gogama, ON (Cote Gold Site)

Job Overview:

The Senior Equipment Operator is responsible for operating various machinery on site, including graders, excavators, skid steers, dozers, and loaders. This role also involves delivering on-the-job training to junior operators and ensuring proper documentation of training activities. In addition to equipment operation, the position requires performing skilled manual labour as needed and supporting the Site Services Coordinator and crew.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Operate graders and other equipment (e.g., excavators, skid steers, dozers, loaders) from the company fleet. Train employees on heavy equipment operation, hoisting and rigging, elevating work platforms, and forklift operation for the mine site scope of work, including managing all relevant training records and documentation. Provide timely feedback to management and supervisors regarding employee competency in equipment operation. Participate in training team meetings and contribute to the development of new training courses and programs. Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in response to operational changes. Exhibit leadership with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Maintain current knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Mining Regulations. Perform service work, renovations, new construction, and ongoing maintenance. Carry out snow removal and road maintenance tasks. Engage in skilled manual labour, including construction, renovations, and concrete work. Clean and prepare worksites. Manage machinery fueling and site dewatering. Handle material movement and storage. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Quali?cations:

Minimum of 5 years of equipment operating experience, including training others. High school diploma or GED required. Train-the-Trainerqualification in Ministry Common Core programs considered an asset. Valid operator tickets for graders and other heavy equipment are assets. Valid Surface Miner Common Core certification and completion of specialty equipment modules are assets (required if hired). Experience and valid tickets for operating additional machinery or power tools are assets. Valid G Class driver's license with a clean driving record (driver's abstract required if hired).
