Are you a seasoned professional with over 10 years of hands-on experience in environmental science or engineering, specializing in assessment, characterization, and remediation? Do you have a proven track record in the Western Canada region? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

This role is permanent and may require some travel to complete field-based projects.

The Senior Environmental Technical Advisor is primarily office-based; however, a fieldwork component of up to 5% may be required.

What would you be doing?

  • Provide senior guidance, technical support, and recommendations within the risk assessment and remediation line of business, which operates within the high-risk contaminated upstream, midstream and downstream O&G sectors. The scope will include, but is not limited to:
  • Coordinating and executing Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments, Site-Specific Risk Assessments, Subsoil Salinity Tool (SST or Equivalent) Assessments and Directive PNG045 Assessments.
  • Phase 1 and 2 Environmental Site Assessment reviews, data gap analysis and supplemental environmental assessment design.
  • Small and large-scale in-situ and ex-situ remediation programs.
  • Groundwater Monitoring Programs, including installations, development, monitoring and modelling.
  • Site remediation through the use of various remedial technologies.
  • Provide senior technical support to staff supporting your projects.
  • Coordinate with Program and Project Managers, field staff and senior advisors to scope projects, communicate with clients and deliver reports.
Does this sound like you?
  • University Degree in environmental science/engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years experience in upstream or downstream environmental consulting.
  • Eligibility for or carry a current professional designation as a Professional Agrologist, Biologist, Chemist, or Engineering/Geoscience.
  • SST certification.
  • Experienced in overseeing environmental assessment and remediation projects, including contractor supervision sample selection for laboratory analysis.
  • Knowledgeable of provincial environmental regulations (Alberta Tier 1 and 2, PNG045, etc.), policies and guidelines or technical guidance documents.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Proficiency in planning and control of work in a multi-project, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to develop meaningful working relationships with individuals from a variety of diverse backgrounds.
  • Able to prioritize work, multi-task and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume team environment.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving with a strong ability to take initiative.
  • Views health and safety as a priority.
  • Experience with risk-based guideline development and toxicology is considered an asset.
