The Role, Sr. Engineering Manager

GoCanvas, SiteDocs, and Bluebeam work together as part of the Nemetschek Group to streamline construction and field operations. GoCanvas specializes in digital fieldworker collaboration and compliance, while SiteDocs, a GoCanvas solution, focuses on workplace safety management through mobile and web apps. Bluebeam enhances these capabilities by providing powerful workflow automation and seamless integrations, allowing teams to connect data, automate processes, and keep field and office teams in sync. Together, these platforms create a unified ecosystem that improves efficiency, safety, and collaboration across construction projects.
SiteDocs is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to join their team! The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with other departments, communicate project updates to stakeholders, and align engineering efforts with organizational goals. They will monitor performance metrics, implement process improvements, and address technical or operational challenges. Additionally, the Sr. Engineering Manager will drive innovation by exploring new technologies and methods to enhance engineering practices and meet customer needs.
Your Most Important Initiatives:

• Project Planning and Execution

• Develop strategies for project completion, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Oversee project progress and ensure milestones are met efficiently and on schedule.
• Review proposals, monitor quality control, and coordinate with other departments.
• Team Leadership

• Manage and supervise engineering teams, fostering collaboration and productivity.
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings to provide feedback and support individual growth.
• Hire and onboard new team members while identifying training opportunities.
• Technical Oversight

• Provide guidance on technical contributions, product architecture, and engineering processes.
• Ensure technical accuracy in team deliverables and develop quality control procedures.
• Lead research and development initiatives to create new designs, products, or processes.
• Collaboration and Communication

• Work closely with other management personnel, including sales, marketing, and finance teams.
• Act as a technical resource for team members while mentoring and delegating tasks effectively.
• Communicate project updates to stakeholders and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Performance Monitoring

• Track engineering KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and draft quarterly objectives.
• Implement process improvements to enhance productivity and product quality.
• Monitor budgets, schedules, and team performance to meet organizational expectations.
• Problem Solving

• Address conflicts within teams and resolve technical or operational challenges.
• Use analytical skills to evaluate complex issues and propose effective solutions.
• Innovation and Research

• Lead research efforts for new technologies or methods that improve engineering practices.
• Collaborate with other departments to identify customer needs for product development.

What You Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline is preferred
• 5+ years of professional experience in the target engineering discipline is typically required
• Proven track record of technical leadership and hands-on engineering work
• Strong technical background in the relevant engineering field, including up-to-date knowledge of engineering practices, software, frameworks, and processes
• Ability to provide strategic technical direction and understand how technologies fit into the larger industry context
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams
• Strong communication skills for conveying technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• High emotional intelligence, with the ability to motivate teams, resolve conflicts, and foster a positive work environment

We take into account an individual's qualifications, skillset, and experience in determining final salary. This role is eligible for health insurance (medical, dental & vision), life insurance, 401(k) & paid time off. The expected compensation range for this position is about $190k-$230k CAD annually. The actual offer will be at the company's sole discretion and determined by relevant business considerations, including the final candidate's qualifications, years of experience, skillset, and geographic location.
