What we need you to bring.
Horizon is seeking an open, enthusiastic, and experienced Leader of Embedded Hardware Electronics. Your role will have a duality of technical leadership and the design, development, and integration of embedded electronic systems that are critical to our eVTOL aircraft platform. This role shapes the technical direction, manages a close-knit engineering team, and defines processes for embedded hardware delivery on eVTOL systems.
Your Day- to-Day:
Lead the design, development, and integration of embedded hardware for avionics, propulsion, and safety systems, ensuring technical excellence and regulatory compliance.
Define working methods, development workflows, and best practices for hardware design, prototyping, validation, and certification.
Manage and mentor a small team of embedded hardware engineers, fostering skill development and effective collaboration.
Set technical priorities, delegate tasks, and provide oversight to guarantee timely delivery of robust and certifiable products.
Facilitate cross-disciplinary project reviews and support team growth by building bridges with software, systems, and testing functions.
Stay up to date with, and implement the latest developments in your field
Drive the continuous improvement of our processes to increase safety and efficiency
We are looking for people that will have the following qualifications and experiences: Demonstrated experience (7+ years) in an Embedded Hardware and Leadership role. You will have strong knowledge of electronics, communication protocols (CAN, ARINC 429, Ethernet, UART, SPI, IC), and power electronics (ideally in an EVTOL development), and you will have familiarity with eVTOL Certification regulations from the TCCA, FAA, and EASA. You will have expertise in component selection, verification, and system integration for aerospace applications, and strong interpersonal skills for building and leading engaged, multi-skilled teams.
