With this vision and framework in mind, our Natural Gas Division is seeking Senior Engineers for supervisory positions to help transform our utility industry. You will have the opportunity to manage a team of engineers delivering a variety of pipeline, facility, and integrity projects to build a more resilient, sustainable, and affordable natural gas pipeline system for the communities we serve.

We have a number of Senior Engineer positions available in the following engineering groups:

  • Facilities Engineering
  • Welding and Hot Tapping Engineering
Under the direction and leadership of a Manager, the Senior Engineer is responsible for providing supervision and mentorship to engineers within the engineering group. Responsibilities will also include providing input to the Manager with respect to work assignments, budgeting, and group processes. In addition, there will be opportunities to work as a project manager on projects or proposal teams and provide technical guidance to the engineering group and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide frontline leadership to engineers including reviewing and approving design calculations, drawings, and engineering assessments, as well as developing technical abilities, and conducting performance reviews
  • Manage a team of engineers as they develop and execute assigned projects for the construction, operation, and maintenance of natural gas pipelines and facilities. This would include completion of system design recommendations, detailed designs, cost estimates, scheduling, material specifications, contractor coordination, and procurement
  • Provide technical support and coordination with various groups
  • Lead technical discussions with customers when needed, and provide input of, but not limited to, a technical nature for optimizing proposals
  • Responsible for preparing budgets, performing monthly capital forecasting, sitting on various internal technical committees, and implementing process improvements to maintain efficient and effective group productivity
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation with APEGA
  • 5-12 years of experience in the oil and gas industry
  • Experience in project management, construction, planning and operations of natural gas transmission or distribution projects (pipeline, facility, or integrity) is strongly preferred
  • Experience in welding, materials, and hot tapping of natural gas transmission or distribution pipelines, including welding, fabrication, in-service welding, hot tapping and isolation, and associated codes, standards, regulations, and industry practices is considered an asset for the Welding and Hot Tapping Engineering role
  • Knowledge of overall natural gas pipeline system design and operation is an asset
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, interpersonal, and relationship building skills that demonstrate an ability to work with, motivate, lead, and manage a team of professionals and operations staff to achieve successful results
