Magna Mining Inc. is a Sudbury-focused, base metal exploration and development company.



Magna Mining's key objective is to become the next nickel and copper producing company in Canada by executing a growth strategy that is focused exclusively on the historic nickel producing district of Sudbury, ON.



We intend to achieve this objective via the creation of a Sudbury focused, hub and spoke production model, with our existing Shakespeare project as the hub. The path to the creation of a significant new battery metals producing Canadian company is to execute a long term, multi-faceted growth strategy.

The Senior Engineer, Mining is responsible for planning, designing, and optimizing mining operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective extraction of mineral resources. This role provides technical leadership, mentors junior engineers, and works closely with operations, geology, and management teams to deliver short-, medium-, and long-term mine plans aligned with business objectives.

Responsibilities:


Develop and review short-, medium-, and long-term mine plans. Design mine layouts, production schedules, stopes, and infrastructure. Optimize mine designs to maximize recovery, productivity, and economic returns. Prepare and review life-of-mine (LOM) plans and reserves statements. Provide technical guidance to operations to achieve production targets. Analyze production performance and recommend improvements. Ensure compliance with geotechnical, ventilation, and ground control requirements. Support drill and blast design and optimization. Ensure mine plans comply with statutory, safety, and environmental regulations. Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective actions. Mentor junior mining engineers and graduates. Contribute technical input to capital projects and feasibility studies. Prepare technical reports, presentations, and budgets. Contribute to audits, reviews, and external reporting as required.

Requirements

Qualifications: Formal Education, Certifications or Equivalents



Post-secondary education in Mine Engineering, or a related field. Registration or eligibility to register as an Engineer in Training with the Professional Engineers of Ontario is required.

Work Experience: Nature & Length



7 or more year of mine engineering experience, with a focus on underground mining operations.

Key Competencies: Behaviours & Skills



Expert in mine design and planning software. Excellent knowledge of the principles and practices of mine engineering. Proficient with common computer skills including preparation of documents and presentations, spreadsheet use, database data entry, and email use. Proven analytical skills with attention to detail. Written and verbal communication skills.
