What you can expect to do here:

As a Senior Mine Waste Engineer, you could be responsible for:



Leading the design and performance evaluation of tailings storage facilities, waste rock dumps, and water management infrastructure Reviewing geotechnical and hydrogeological investigations Providing strategic guidance on permitting, environmental planning, and risk management Mentoring junior and intermediate engineers Overseeing project phases, from concept through execution, in collaboration with cross-functional teams Driving innovation in waste management strategies and sustainable practices Driving business development with existing and new clients. Representing WSP in client engagements, regulatory discussions, and industry forums

What you'll bring to WSP:

10-15 years of experience in mine waste or geotechnical engineering Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Geological Engineering P.Eng. designation in Canada Deep understanding of tailings dam design, closure planning, and risk-based decision making Proven leadership in engineering teams and multidisciplinary project delivery Strong analytical, communication, and client-facing skills Passion for mentorship and continuous improvement

Compensation:

Salary range (in British Columbia): $124,800 - $171,600


The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. The salary range provided in this job posting may be subject to change for business purposes.
