We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Engineer specializing in heavy-duty truck suspensions, you will play a crucial role in developing and enhancing our suspension systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, and product management to design innovative solutions that meet performance, cost, and manufacturability targets.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design and development of heavy-duty truck & Trailer suspension systems from concept to production.
Utilize CAD software ( SolidWorks and KeyCreator) to create detailed designs, assemblies, and drawings.
Conduct engineering analyses (Ansys) and simulations to validate design concepts and optimize performance.
Collaborate with Chalmers and OEM engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure designs meet quality, cost, and manufacturing requirements.
Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to heavy-duty truck & Trailer suspensions.
Follow IATF practices (DFMEA). Maintain BOM.
Investigate product performance in the field. Suggest and implement product improvements.
Support Chalmers Sales & Promotions department with technical training & literature.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing heavy-duty truck suspensions or related automotive components.
Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, KeyCreator, etc.) and engineering analysis tools.
Strong understanding of suspension kinematics, dynamics, and structural analysis.
Experience with GD&T, tolerance analysis, and design for manufacturability.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Creative problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation.
Able to travel internationally.
Ontario P.Eng. registered (preferred)
