SENIOR ENGINEER - ELECTRICAL & INSTRUMENTATION



The Sr. Electrical Engineer (I&E) is responsible for all aspects of electrical power, automation, and controls system design including providing leadership and coaching with emphasis on, quality review, progress tracking, and project delivery. This position will be responsible for ensuring that an assigned design team complies with our engineering practices and policy and will be significantly involved in technical training of team members. The Sr. Electrical Engineer will make critical contributions by leading the daily operations of the team and overall program quality. This is a complex job requiring strong judgment, exceptional communication skills and a thorough understanding of distribution design requirements.

Your Key Responsibilities:



Leading a team of electrical engineers and designers to successfully execute project deliverables for mining, oil & gas, and other similar industrial facilities.

Overseeing all project electrical work, setting clear direction and expectations, keeping staff focused on objectives, and fostering a sense of teamwork and dedication to meeting goals.

Providing technical advice and direction on DCS/PLC systems (DeltaV, Foxboro), data historians (OSIsoft PI), advanced process data analytics, process control design, data reporting, implementation of advanced process control strategies, control loop performance management power distribution systems, substations, MCCs, grounding, lighting, motor control, automation interfaces, and other industrial electrical systems.

Performing project quality checks, quality audits, and compiling lessons learned documentation and improvement plans.

Lead client interactions and review meeting as wells as communicate with vendors and subconsultants.

Understanding and applying all applicable industry and client standards, electrical codes, and regulations (CSA, IEEE, NEC, etc.) for design and engineering.

Monitoring safety, workflow, team dynamics, and work practices.

Participating in recruitment and managing staff, including performance evaluations, addressing performance issues, and developing staff training and development plans.

Communicating with leadership on team resourcing and project health.

Collaborating in a multidiscipline.

Developing and maintaining relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers

Qualifications:



Must have successfully completed a degree at an accredited College/Department of Electrical Engineering. Must be eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS): Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation. Experienced working on multidiscipline teams in an office setting, additionally, site experience is an asset. Effective interpersonal skills - strong written and verbal communication to ensure clear coordination between team members, clients, contractors, and suppliers. Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to set priorities, organize work, and complete work within given timelines. Demonstrated technical proficiency in industrial electrical engineering, including applied knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, standards, and heavy industrial design practices

Proven experience in plant process monitoring, problem solving, and control systems. Proficient in engineering software applications such as database tools, AutoCAD, ETAP. Thorough understanding of codes, governing regulations and industry practices. Valid driver's license.

Education and Experience



Bachelor's degree in Process Control Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Automation and Controls Engineering.

Seven (7) to twelve (12) years of industry experience in North America, site experience in mining/oil & gas is an asset.

Requirements:



? P.Eng. designation, or eligible.

? Pre-access substance testing prior to any site trip to the client's operations
