Further information is available atSUMMARYThe Senior Energy Manager will work closely with the National Director, Energy to execute the client's mandate of achieving carbon neutrality in PSPC facilities and a 40% reduction in carbon emissions in other government department facilities by 2030. In addition to project and operation responsibilities, the role involves providing oversight and leadership to a team of energy managers located across the country, planning and coordinating with leaders of other internal departments including property management services, project management and commissioning as well as act as the primary liaison with energy client representatives.KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESOversight and Leadership:

  • Plans and oversees the execution of strategies developed by the National Director in collaboration with the client.
  • Provides leadership to teams of energy managers and analysts to implement and execute consistent practices developed by the National Director to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030.
  • Oversees and supports a large group of energy analysts and energy managers across the country.
  • Identifies and develops training requirements for the energy managers and analysts.
  • Oversees utility budgeting, forecasting and accruals reporting delivered by the energy analysts.
  • Develops energy analysis tools, processes and systems for implementation by the energy managers and analysts.
  • Works closely with regional energy managers on the development and execution of energy audits and studies, energy conservation projects and optimized operations.
  • Integrates energy management practices with corporate finance teams and systems, property management services, capital planning services and project delivery services.
  • Standardizes energy management systems and processes including but not limited to energy audits and studies, procurement requirements, engineering specifications, project delivery support, sub-metering, measurement and verification, continuous commissioning, integration with and education of building technicians etc.
  • Tracks, measures and report on progress relative to client and corporate objectives and goals.
  • Collaborates with other Senior Energy Managers to ensure consistent delivery of energy management practices.
  • Works with Regional General Managers and Technical Managers to align client and corporate goals.
  • Builds and maintains relationship with client leadership teams.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
  • University degree in Engineering.
  • More than ten years of job-related experience
  • Fluent in English and French.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team of technical specialists in the field of energy management.
  • Experience managing energy utilities and delivering energy retrofit projects in facilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with multi-disciplinary leaders and ability to integrate energy management goals within other corporate requirements.
  • Track record of successful stakeholder engagement and relationship building with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with building controls systems and/or writing HVAC sequences of operations considered an asset.
  • Experience leading consulting teams considered an asset.
  • Project management experience considered an asset.
  • Experience in industrial power plant settings considered an asset.
Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) considered an asset.
  • Professional Engineer considered an asset.
