Position Description:
As the Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing embedded software systems on Damon’s motorcycles. Active participation in defining the software and hardware interfaces and requirements is expected, as well as working with product management and customers to shape our products.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design, prototype, implement, test and document embedded software systems.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems in innovative ways.
  • Work with Product Management to define the product requirements and ensure customer needs are being met.
  • Estimate timelines and provide risk assessments for planning and tracking work.
  • Provide feedback for continuous improvement of processes.

Position Requirements:
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or equivalent discipline.
  • 5+ years experience in embedded software development and system design in C or C++
  • Experience developing software for linux and/or RTOS and/or bare-metal systems.
  • Experience in both high- and low-level system architecture designs.
  • Experience with Arm Cortex and Power Architecture core microcontrollers.
  • Experience with hardware/software integration based on a variety of interfaces and protocols.
  • Experience with software development tools and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Travel may be required.

Nice to Haves:
  • Experience implementing Functional Safety in embedded systems (ISO 26262 or equivalent).
  • Experience solving cybersecurity issues.
  • Experience with automotive development.
  • Familiarity with AUTOSAR.
  • Proficiency with MATLAB.
  • Experience with hardware lab tools (oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, etc).
  • Experience with CAN, ethernet, UDS, MQTT.
  • Motorcycle riding experience.
  • Travel may be required.
