Our Edmonton-based client is looking for a senior firmware architect to join and provide leadership to their engineering team. This role requires high-level, and system-level thinking to innovate and evolve their current product ecosystem. This amazing opportunity will require creativity and innovation.
Responsibilities:
- Architect, design, and develop embedded firmware solutions
- Provide leadership and mentoring to other embedded team members
- Work with the internal product team to develop system architecture and firmware requirements for next-generation products
- Help define the firmware technology roadmap
- Help define and maintain firmware development processes
- Engage and manage external development houses
- Participate in design and code reviews
- BSc in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science
- Solid foundation in embedded system architecture and firmware design
- 10+ years of firmware design and development experience
- Expert in C/C++
- Embedded RTOS experience
- JIRA and Agile development experience
- Experience with IoT messaging protocols (MQTT)
- Firmware design for low power and battery applications
- Embedded Linux experience
- BLE and WiFi experience
- Python experience
