We have an immediate opening for a Senior Electrical Journeyperson. This position is ideal for a Red Seal Electrician with 15+ years of industrial or field experience and is adept in troubleshooting industrial equipment while managing and reinforcing safe and efficient operations. You will join our diverse team, working on cutting-edge projects in industrial desalination, water treatment, and lithium recovery. You will also have the opportunity to train and mentor new engineers and tradespeople.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead safety initiatives and train other technical and Production staff in safe working practices.
  • Train and provide technical guidance on electrical practices for Production, Engineers, Technicians, and other staff.
  • Support our Electrical Engineering and Production teams with:
  • Reviewing electrical drawings, production packages, and related work to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Identifying and solving problems using prints and as-built equipment.
  • Executing factory and site commissioning activities as the resident electrical commissioning lead.
  • Resolving electrical and control-related issues as they arise.
  • Perform electrical work such as:
  • Connecting motors and instruments to industrial control equipment.
  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing power feed, distribution panels, transformers, and other electrical equipment.
  • Metering live voltages and taking measurements on newly installed and existing equipment.
  • Performing and reinforcing Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures.
  • Overseeing electrical facility upgrades and maintenance tasks.
  • Conducting electrical commissioning checks at the post-production and pre-commissioning stages to ensure the systems are ready for commencing subsequential commissioning activities.
  • Inspecting work to ensure compliance with national and local electrical codes.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites, along with the Saltworks commissioning team, to perform electrical commissioning of plants (as an electrical representative).
Qualification Requirements:
  • Journeyperson Electrician (Red Seal) with 15 + years of working experience.
  • Significant experience in an industrial setting.
  • Electrical Field Safety Representative (FSR) designation.
  • Experienced in reading industrial electrical blueprints.
  • Adept in the application of the Canadian Electrical Code.
  • Working knowledge and application of WorkSafe regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to offer constructive feedback and practical solutions to help teams understand and comply with electrical safety standards and practices.
  • Electrical panel building and troubleshooting experience, including using tools and diagnostic equipment to repair, install, and replace electrical equipment, components, and circuits.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Excellent housekeeping skills.
  • Good attention to detail, organization, change management, and time management skills.
  • Valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license.
