:Wood in Saskatoon is currently recruiting for an Electrical Engineer - Senior to join our Minerals & Mining team.Come be your very best YOU at Wood.Wood is one of Canada\'s longest standing engineering firms with roots dating back to 1907 with a presence in Saskatchewan for over 60 years - The Saskatoon office is the Potash Centre of Excellence and leaders in uranium, lithium and other base metals with multi-discipline expertise leading sustaining capital and all phases of projects from concept studies up to large scale EPCM projects.Responsibilities:Reporting to the Electrical Department Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible to:

• Provide leadership on projects and mentor junior staff.
• Check the design work of others and provide technical feedback.
• Review and/or develop and take responsibility for the electrical designs required in a detailed engineering project, including but not limited to schematic and wiring diagrams, single line diagrams, cable tray, lighting, equipment layouts, heat tracing, and electrical lists.
• Prepare and/or supervise power quality and protection studies, and calculations to support designs. Experience with ETAP, Easy Power, etc. is required.
• Prepare and/or supervise the design of high voltage substations and site standby generator systems.
• Assist with equipment procurement packages, including the development and/or review of specifications and datasheets, evaluate technical bids, meet with vendors and review vendor documentation.
• Assist in the preparation of construction contracts including development of electrical installation specifications and scope of work.
• Work with clients, vendors and utilities to create electrical solutions for mining and mineral processing.
• Attend client meetings, obtain measurements and collect data at job sites as required.
• When required, lead a team of electrical engineers and designers on a project including:
• Coordinate electrical design work and technical input across a project wide, multi-discipline design to ensure cost effective, efficient, safe and timely completion of the project.
• Participate in the development of scope, budgets, and schedules.
• Coordinate the project\'s electrical team by managing design work packages, deadlines and budget. Ensure quality by monitoring that team\'s deliverables meet client and company standards.
• Provide regular reporting to management and client regarding the electrical team progress and performance with respect to scope, schedule and budget.

Qualifications:

• Electrical Engineering (BSc) degree with completed course in power systems is required.
• Registered as an Engineer (P.Eng) in the province of Saskatchewan.
• Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required.
• 15+ years of engineering experience, preferably in supporting consulting projects for mining, metallurgical or similar process industries.
• Knowledge of power system theory including per unit system and sequential components.
• Knowledge of CSA and IEEE standards including the Canadian Electrical Code and Saskatchewan Amendments, and how to apply them to designs.
• Experience as a project discipline lead overseeing a team of technical professionals and managing scope, schedule, cost, quality, and design of electrical projects.
• Effective communication, organization and time management skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume and deadline-driven environment. Must have the ability to balance the workload in order to meet multiple deadlines.
• Everyday use of Navisworks, Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Team player, but also able to work independently and take responsibility.
• Other Skills considered assets:

• Knowledge and experience in construction
• Instrumentation and controls design experience
