Purpose:

The candidate will lead small, medium, and large projects for the Electrical discipline and interface well with the customer and coordinate with the rest of the project team.

  • Take responsibility for the Electrical engineering and design team assigned to, and their design output to quality, cost, and schedule requirements for specific projects.
  • Support the Technical Integrity role for the Electrical discipline.
  • Ensure all engineering and design work performed adjusts to quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
  • Ensure all design work is safe and carried out in a safe manner.
  • Ensure all design work conforms to the applicable codes and standards used by the client, or to agreed industry standards

Responsibilities:
  • Lead a discipline project team of Designers/Engineers with a hybrid work schedule and supporting offices around the globe, as part of the Electrical team.
  • Perform designing/engineering work/deliverables as part of the Electrical team.
  • Ability to interpret client specifications.
  • Coordinate/Communicate with other disciplines and the client.
  • Support Scope definition, estimation, and progress control of Electrical engineering activities.
  • Support Resource allocation based on project schedule requirements
  • Lead RFP, Estimations, Detailed Engineering, and field support project activities
  • Familiarity of Mining and other applicable codes and Mining standards to support engineering deliverables
  • Familiarity of client standards and ability to interpret client specifications.
  • Support quality assurance and verification role on engineering deliverables
  • Quality Assurance \xe2\x80\x93 Responsible for working, and getting team members working with you, within the provisions and guidelines of the Worley Quality Assurance system
  • Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions.
  • Assist and support junior/intermediate/senior personnel within the Electrical engineering team.
  • Keep up to date with the latest developments and technical innovations in Electrical engineering.
  • Resolves discrepancies between Worley and its Customer\'s requirements.
  • As required, act as the Electrical engineering Lead on specific projects.
  • Ensure the project scope is clear and that changes comply with project change management processes.
  • Participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports, and follow required checking procedures.
  • May be required to provide assistance and advice during procurement, construction and commissioning activities.
  • Provide construction management support for clients as required.
  • Liaise with clients, vendors, engineers, and other disciplines.
  • Participate in the professional development of less experienced members of the department/team.
Qualifications

What you will bring

Technical and Industry Experience:
  • Senior level engineering experience in electrical engineering
  • Leadership role supporting multiple small, mid-sized and large projects in different phases such as Pre-Feasibility, Feasibility and Detail Design
  • Knowledge of Instrumentation would be an asset/preferable.
  • Previous site experience will be an asset.
  • Experience in Mining, Mineral and Metals industry and EPC or EPCM projects. necessary
  • Surface and U/G Mining Experience including shaft sinking, subsurface utilities
  • Familiar with digital tools, digitization and data acquisition experience are an asset
  • Strong knowledge on the development of the following deliverables.
  • Process Plant MV and LV Power Distribution Systems
  • Substation, Switchgear and MCC design
  • HV knowledge an asset/preferable
  • Single line diagrams, schematics, interconnection, and wiring diagram
  • Layouts \xe2\x80\x93 lighting and grounding, cable routing design
  • Area classification per code requirements
  • Electrical calculations
  • HVAC, Ventilation, and Fire Alarm/control system Experience
  • Teleprotection/communication/SCADA an asset
  • Revamp and grassroots project experience
  • Preparation of Specifications and Contract Documentation.
  • Prepare electrical design and calculations in accordance with the relevant Canadian Codes / Standards and client preferences.
  • Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, regulations, and practices.
  • Team player, with excellent organizational, communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Power System Analysis/Studies tools such as ETAP, Easy Power and SKM.
  • Basic knowledge of Computer Aided Design software.
  • Basic knowledge of SmartPlant Electrical software.
  • Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
Education \xe2\x80\x93 Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:
  • University graduate in Electrical Engineering or Applied Science.
  • Must have senior level years of direct Electrical design and engineering experience working on Mining, Minerals & Metals projects
  • P. Eng (Ontario) designation
Preferred:
  • Experience in the Worley Improve business is an asset
