Senior Electrical Engineer

to lead the design of complex electrical systems for hyperscale and AI data centres across North America. This is a remote position within an international engineering firm recognized for its innovation and expertise in mission-critical infrastructure.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, modelling, and implementation of power systems that ensure reliability, efficiency, and compliance with all applicable codes. You will work closely with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders to deliver electrical systems that support high-capacity, technology-driven environments.

What You Will Do



Lead electrical engineering design activities on major projects in Canada and the United States Design, model, and simulate electrical systems for hyperscale and AI data centres Develop power distribution systems including MV/LV, UPS, standby generators, and security systems Prepare engineering calculations, schematic layouts, and detailed designs Produce technical documentation such as design criteria and specifications Coordinate with architects and engineers to integrate BIM models and resolve conflicts Review shop drawings and ensure compliance with codes and safety standards Use BIM tools to virtually construct electrical systems and coordinate with other disciplines Travel to client sites across Canada and the United States (including Utah, Arizona, Nevada, California, Texas, Colorado, and Virginia) Manage and coordinate projects, including on-site supervision Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and resolve technical issues Utilize laser scanning technology to document installation status

What We Expect



Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution 10-15 years of relevant experience, ideally in the construction or mission-critical industry Prior experience with data centre or other large-scale industrial projects (preferred) Strong knowledge of MV/LV power distribution, UPS, generators, redundancy strategies (N+1, 2N), and energy efficiency principles Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng in Canada or PE in the US) is an asset Thorough understanding of NEC, IEEE, CSA, and international electrical codes applicable to mission-critical facilities Proficiency with BIM (Autodesk Revit), CAD, and related engineering tools Experience with power system studies (short circuit, protective device coordination, arc-flash analysis) using SKM, Etap, or EasyPower Willingness to travel to client sites in Canada and the United States (Utah, Arizona, Nevada, California, Texas, Colorado, and Virginia) Experience with underground duct bank ampacity/heat (Neher-McGrath) studies Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to manage projects and supervise on-site activities effectively Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
