About the Role:

Scribd is looking for a Head of Creative and Brand to lead the growth and evolution of the Scribd brand vision and identity. This role will report into the CMO and will be responsible for leading, coaching and mentoring a team of savvy designers, copywriters and brand strategists. As Head of Creative, you will be responsible for overseeing our major brand design and campaign initiatives along with driving the creative campaigns for our Scribd original ebooks and audiobooks, from authors like Stephen King and Roxanne Gay.

You have led a global creative team, and you thrive in a fast-paced environment where you have managed multiple projects simultaneously. You are a strategic thinker, connecting the business needs with breakthrough creative. You are a resourceful, driven creative collaborator - balancing hands-on work with directing and managing others. You are a natural storyteller and have a passion for building great brands.

You Will:

  • Grow, inspire and lead a best-in-class creative and brand team
  • Be an optimistic change agent that helps energize and lead the rest of the organization toward the fulfillment of our brand evolution, helping foster a design and insight driven culture
  • Oversee the development of brand identity systems and its implementation
  • Work closely with the content acquisition and marketing team on the development of creative campaigns for our Scribd Original titles
  • Partner with product designers and business partners to ensure there is a consistent and cohesive brand identity across all consumer touch points
  • Manage external creative partners such as brand and ad agencies
  • Lead and advocate for creative processes that fosters best in class creative outcomes
You Have:
  • 8-10 years of experience leading creative teams
  • Experience with brand architecture and managing multiple brand identity standards
  • Experience building a brand from the ground up
  • Executive communication experience in translating brand and creative goals
  • A mix of in-house and agency experience
  • A passion for or background in publishing or subscription based companies
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117.5K - $149K [in lowest US geographic market] and up to $168.5K - $212.75K [in highest US geographic market]. Pay is based on a number of factors including location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and operational factors. This position is also eligible for equity, and a yearly cash bonus in addition to a full range of benefits, including [medical benefits, 401k, etc].
