PavCo is excited to share that we are hiring a Senior Director, People and Culture to join our team.



As the most senior HR leader at PavCo, the Senior Director, People and Culture will provide senior level leadership and strategic direction in support of PavCo's vision, mission, values and priorities. The ideal candidate will be a champion of leading people practices and will be responsible for the development of the organization's People Strategy.



The successful candidate will have broad-based HR leadership experience, contributing at the strategic level as well as hands-on execution. Particular strengths in building teams, attracting/retaining talent and aligning HR activities with organizational strategy will be key to achieving success in a complex, unionized, multi-stakeholder environment.



Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer (COO) and working closely with the CEO of PavCo, the Senior Director will set the human resource strategy and act as a key resource to all senior managers and the executive team across the organization in the areas of recruitment and training, compensation and benefits, health and safety, employee relations and engagement, performance evaluation and labour relations.



You have a track record as an inspiring leader who has experience in all facets of human resources management and can provide PavCo with best-in-class human resource initiatives. We are seeking a true people person who listens with empathy and builds trust through care and authenticity. As a true business partner, you will lead in a large, complex environment and be recognized for your ability to establish operational efficiencies and build positive and productive relationships with people at all levels.



WHAT YOU WILL DO:



Provide strategic advice to the senior leadership team and department heads on complex issues. Establish and maintain strategic relationships with stakeholders, related public sector organizations and industry leaders. Collaborate with the senior leadership team on key strategic decisions, opportunities and challenges. Determine trends in Human Resources Management and identify emerging practices, future opportunities and potential risks. Lead talent management, employee and workplace practices that contribute to an exceptionally engaged and highly functioning workforce to help support PavCo's goals. Design and implement innovative employee programs that include competency-based talent management, coaching and leadership training. Oversee all aspects of the employee experience (recruiting, orientation, performance management, total compensation, culture, engagement, learning and development, health, safety and wellness). Determine and recommend labour relations strategies, including leading the collective bargaining process. Ensure people and organizational policies and practices are in compliance with all applicable standards. Be accountable to the board in all matters related to the HR function.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:



Bachelors in a related discipline required; relevant Master's degree considered an asset. CPHR designation desirable. 15+ years' experience in human resources. Minimum 5 Years in a senior leadership Human Resources capacity. Management experience of large diverse teams is an asset. Experience in the Public-Sector environment and large-scale labour relations considered an asset. Compensation, benefits, talent acquisition, succession planning, performance management, learning and development, leadership development, HRIS systems and related processes, employee engagement, employee communications, labour relations, public sector knowledge including PSEC environment. Strategic and business planning, project management, change management, culture impact.

The salary range for this position is $146,927 - $183,659

Offers will be in line with PavCo's internal pay equity and qualified candidate's experience and education. Salary discussion and overall compensation package will be presented during initial phone interviews.
