The Senior Director, Finance is responsible for all financial information/practices related to the agency's operations including auditing, budget planning/reporting, payroll administration, compliance, accounting, cashflow, investments and analysis. The Senior Director, Finance works closely with the CFO and all departments to support strategic goals, and leads a team ensuring that all policies, protocols and regulatory requirements are followed. The incumbent is a resource to the leadership team on all financial matters.




KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:




Participates in the development and implementation of the annual budget and forecasts for programs and departments Oversees the annual budget and forecast, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and completeness. Oversees budget requirements and financial principles for new and proposed programs Review/oversee the financial feasibility of programs and projects, breakeven analyses for business ventures to aid in management decision-making Identifies areas of risk and proactively establishes financial risk management strategies Considers opportunities for and monitors investments and makes recommendation to C-Suite and other leaders Seeks opportunities for improvement in revenue, compensation, expenditures, resource allocations and efficiency initiatives Ensures timely budget submissions to funders and partners while nurturing positive relations Prepares financial information to support the activities of the Board of Directors, senior leadership and other stakeholders Provides support to agency Strategic Directors and Directors in responding to funder and partner queries or ad hoc reporting requirements Develops and maintains all Finance policies and procedures Establishes the departmental measures that support the accomplishment of strategic goals Establishes structure and strategy regarding the provision of financial services throughout the agency Oversees/prepares financial reporting and analysis Manages finance systems and policies Participates as a key member of the leadership team for the agency, specifically regarding financial elements of the strategic plan Oversee all talent management activities within the Finance team to ensure alignment with Human Resources policy and processes (including recruitment, onboarding/orientation, terminations, performance management, professional development)


QUALIFICATIONS:




Business/Accounting degree and CPA designation. 10 years' experience in finance leadership roles with exposure to the Finance and Audit Committee and the Board. Experience in non-for-profit environment, working with various government bodies Understands the multi-sector landscape
