Reports to: Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs & Financial Services



Are you a bold, strategic communicator with a passion for protecting and shaping brand reputation? ChangeMakers is looking for an entrepreneurial Senior Director to lead strategic communications programs for high-profile corporate clients across a range of sectors.



This highly motivated leader will play a lead role in delivering integrated communications strategy and thought leadership campaigns, counseling senior executives, leading breakthrough campaigns and providing issues/crisis management, internal communications counsel and change management.



Managing and coaching high-performing teams and driving new business growth - identifying opportunities for organic growth, proactive business development, and taking the lead in responding to RFPs - are integral parts of the role.

Responsibilities:




Client Leadership & Strategy




Work with senior leadership, taking a lead role in the development and execution of internal and external communications strategies grounded in insights, trends, and measurable outcomes. Provide strategic counsel to senior clients including narrative development, media relations strategies, employee engagement programs, executive thought leadership plans, brand storytelling, and issues/ crisis management. Oversee the execution of strategic corporate communications plans while effectively managing budget, revenue and team resources.

Team & Project Leadership




Manage and mentor account teams and oversee development of direct reports while creating the opportunity for them to deliver high-quality, high-impact work. Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture and support professional development across levels. Collaborate with in-house specialists in creative, media, digital, influencer, data, and social impact to deliver seamless, multi-platform campaigns.

Business Development




Identify opportunities for organic growth while working in collaboration with senior leadership on new business development.



What You Bring:




12+ years of experience in public relations or strategic communications, with deep corporate experience working within a highly matrixed corporate setting and/or an agency environment. Financial services, enterprise tech, and/or higher education client experience is an asset. Proven success managing complex strategic communication programs and integrated brand campaigns, from strategy to execution. Strong expertise in media relations, crisis/issues management, thought leadership strategy development, internal communications and change management. A growth mindset and comfortable driving new business pitches and building client relationships. Excellent writing, storytelling, presentation, and team leadership skills.
