About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Vice President, Operations - Western Zone, the Senior Director of Continuing Care is responsible for the province-wide planning and leadership of the Continuing Care services within the health authority and supports both the clinical and academic mandates of the Nova Scotia Health Authority. Working closely with the Department of Senior\'s and Long Term Care and the strategic direction it sets, the Senior Director provides leadership in the design and implementation of a provincial integrated Continuing Care program of care and in the development and execution of strategic and operational plans that support excellence in care delivery, improvement in health outcomes, and achievement of standards of care established by the Department and both health authorities.

The Senior Director ensures continuous improvement to advance a vision of excellence within the Continuing Care program of care and is responsible for the development, maintenance and monitoring of quality management and safety programs, and compliance with relevant standards and accreditation requirements. The Senior Director facilitates and champions a learning and research environment that aligns with the current and proposed future state of the Nova Scotia Health Authority.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

• Master\'s Degree in health-related discipline
• Registration with relevant health or professional discipline/college or association an asset
• Certified Health Executive designation an asset
• 5-7 years of relevant senior leadership experience with progressive accountabilities for financial, strategic and people management to deliver high quality services: seniors care, home care, or long-term care.
• Excellent leadership, organizational and decision skills in support of patient, family and client centred services.
• Expert knowledge to critically analyze evidence-based practices to inform strategy development and organizational planning.
• Strategic planning and systems thinking.
• Ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships and partnerships with stakeholders.
• Expertise in financial planning.
• Evidence-based collaborative problem solving of complex multifaceted issues.
• Critical thinking and analytical problem solving.
• Understands the principles of project management and demonstrated ability to create and lead complex work teams.
• Expertise in leading complex change.
• Quality improvement methodologies.

• Possesses a sound knowledge of management and a working knowledge of information systems.

Hours

• Full-time Short Assignment position - Approximately 6 months commencing July 24th, 2023; 75 hours biweekly.
• Location is flexible within Nova Scotia

Compensation and Incentives

BANDR18: $65.6188- $82.0237 hourly ($127,956 - $159,946 annually)
