Hybrid Work Model

SLC Management operates in a hybrid environment with a mix of in-office and virtual work where our employees are empowered to do their best. Generally, employees are expected to work three days in-office each week with flexibility depending on their business, client and team needs.

SLC Management is seeking a Senior Director, Client Relationships to support its growing Canadian business. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining and growing our business across Canada, by providing excellent client experience and building strong relationships with our clients.

15 months contract

What will you do:

Client relationship management

  • Pro-active and ongoing engagement with an assigned group of clients to understand their needs. Identify opportunities to extend client relationships over time.
  • Act as the first point of contact for clients, exercising judgement in organizing timely / accurate responses and resolution of issues
  • Serve as the \xe2\x80\x9cvoice of the client\xe2\x80\x9d within the SLC organization, ensuring we put the client perspective at the center of everything we do
Client onboarding
  • Partner with the Business Development team to develop an onboarding strategy for each client. Coordinate onboarding across relevant functional teams.
  • Support the enhancement of onboarding standards to continue meeting regulatory standards and industry best practices
Client reporting
  • Ensure clients receive accurate and timely reporting
  • Develop strong relationships with internal partners to improve the systems, processes, and procedures that support client reporting
  • Provide direction for client reporting and analytics
  • Maintain a deep understanding of SLC product suite to ensure client reporting and communication needs are met
Other client servicing and admin
  • Coordinate client update / diligence meetings and oversee the preparation of presentation materials
  • Recommend enhancements to the operating model that improve the client experience
  • Oversee all other elements of client servicing, including the capital call process, records management, and support for materials on SLC\xe2\x80\x99s products
What do you need to succeed:
  • 7-10 years of progressive investment industry experience
  • 1-2 years of client relationship / account management experience
  • CFA or CAIA designation would be an asset
  • Bilingualism (French, English) required- interactions with English-speaking Clients and partners
  • Knowledge of the institutional investment market, particularly as it relates to alternative asset classes and products (private debt, real estate, infrastructure)
  • Problem solving skills to resolve client queries / issues
  • Communication \xe2\x80\x93 strong written and oral competency. Ability to synthesize complex topics into clear and concise language.
  • Relationship building and situational influence \xe2\x80\x93 ability to build collaborative working relationships across stakeholder groups
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment

SLC Management is a regulated business, and this means that there are certain financial reporting and trading preclearance requirements for all employees. The Base Pay range is for the primary location of the job. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
