Why this role is important

The Senior Director, Category Management has the overall P&L accountability for all products in the Telecom business and The Mobile Shop. The role will build the product vision and define the strategy and associated roadmap for new products and enhancements. The role will also grow and maintain key strategic relationships for the business. As a leader within the business, the role will play a key part in leading change and establishing new ways of cross-functional collaboration to sustain product management discipline across the organization.

What you\'ll do

  • Provide thought leadership to design and implement a vision, deliver a strategy and set up annual plans that drive efficiencies, growth, and employee competencies for product management.
  • Lead a diverse high-performance team to drive business results while fostering a collaborative culture
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the KPI\xe2\x80\x99s, current performance, and potential drivers of change. Leverage analytics to course correct and establish new proactive tactics across the products.
  • Responsible for budget and overall P&L accountability for the telecom products
  • Partner to launch new products as required. Evaluate the current product portfolio for suitability based on evolving customer needs and competitive offerings or market dynamics
  • Establish and grow cross-enterprise partnerships and evaluate opportunities for new partnerships to improve the overall desirability of The Mobile Shop.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining effective relationships with external and internal vendors through proactive management and governance practices.
  • Establish new vendor partnerships as required and support negotiations as relevant.
  • Provide ongoing strategy, visibility and progress of the business to senior management team through business reviews and other avenues
  • Provide leadership to a strong team and drive a culture of collaboration and ownership
  • As a change agent, inspire change management through the organization to better collaborate and streamline the processes.
What you bring
  • 12+ years of professional experience, within the telecommunications, banking, retail sales or related industry with a demonstrated ability to build, coach, lead and mentor diverse teams.
  • Strong business and financial competence alongside a strategic vision and ability to \xe2\x80\x9cget it done\xe2\x80\x9d.
  • Proven track record to effectively lead multiple outsourced partner relationships.
  • Proven track record to lead teams, using direct and indirect leadership and influencing strategies.
  • Ability to effectively lead many projects and priorities simultaneously and proven ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, as well as demonstrated tenacity and persistence, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to negotiate successful outcomes for the business.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Post- secondary education in Business degree or advanced degree is beneficial.
  • Some travel may be required for meeting & event execution
