Position: Sr DevOps Engineer

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cloud computing, software development, and system administration. You will be responsible for implementing and managing continuous integration and deployment pipelines, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance our software delivery processes.

Duties

Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure using AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. Develop automation scripts using Python, Bash, or PowerShell to streamline operations. Manage container orchestration with Kubernetes and Docker for microservices architecture. Oversee configuration management using tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet. Implement disaster recovery strategies and ensure system resilience. Conduct system testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to resolve issues promptly. Collaborate with development teams to gather requirements and ensure alignment with DevOps practices. Monitor system performance using tools like New Relic and Splunk; respond to incidents effectively. Maintain version control systems such as GitHub or GitLab for code management. Facilitate release management processes and ensure smooth software deployment.

Requirements

Proven experience in a DevOps role with a strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Proficiency in scripting languages such as Groovy, Ruby, or Perl; experience with JavaScript is a plus. Familiarity with build tools like Maven or Gradle and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins. Experience managing databases including MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or Oracle. Strong knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, and firewall configurations. Understanding of distributed systems architecture and cloud-native applications. Experience with virtualisation technologies such as VMware or OpenStack. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities. Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
