Overview

IDC is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team. As a DevOps Engineer you will be responsible for implementing application solutions in AWS as well as participating in technical research and development to enable continuing improvement within the DevOps space at IDC.

In this role, you will be a member of the global DevOps team that works with several business units and development teams at IDG(IDC and Foundry). You will work on improving and standardizing the service we provide across those teams, both supporting the teams and building out base capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Implement scalable, resilient, and secure solutions in AWS
• Participate in automation initiatives to streamline processes, improve efficiencies, and reduce hosting cost
• Work closely with other members of the DevOps team, Solution Architects and development teams for continuous improvement
• Enhance and drive automation and "Infrastructure as Code" delivery
• Participate in technical discussion with internal teams, and as a senior member, lead within the team
• Manage cost of solutions and recommend cost-effective alternatives where feasible
• Work with the security team to resolve security issues in the infrastructure and DevOps processes
• Analyze and troubleshoot complex software and infrastructure issues, and develop tools/systems for task automation
• Manage and upgrade DevOps toolsets.
• Participate in on-call rotation

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• At least 3-5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience working in a multi-account AWS environment
• A minimum of 4 years experience in designing and implementing complex DevOps solutions
• Proficient with git and git workflows
• Good knowledge of Nodejs, Java, Python, scripting languages, AWS Infrastructure and Docker/Containerization technologies
• Working knowledge of databases and SQL
• Practical knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment processes and tools
• Experience with problem-solving and a collaborative team spirit
• Previous experience supporting web applications, using technologies such as CloudFront, API Gateway, ALBs, WAF, etc.
• This role can be remote in Canada(ON, BC, AB) or based in the Greater Toronto area, with a hybrid work schedule of coming into the Toronto office at least one day a week.
