Your role

Radio-Canada is setting up a big data analysis project to better understand the behavior of our audience to support us in our decision-making. As the lead developer, digital development you will play a key role in building an enterprise big data analytics platform. You will work closely with business intelligence analysts to define their needs and implement the platform and thus participate in the implementation of this highly strategic project for CBC / Radio-Canada.

In-depth knowledge of audiences is a practice in which we will extract data from the audience (past and present) in order to fully understand and predict their behaviors according to their contexts of use in time and space. The goal is to be proactive in improving the user experience.

Responsibilities

Provide the practical expertise to develop and implement a big data cloud solution.

Participate in the implementation of the architecture, new tools, processes and models in order to build a sustainable big data platform.

Program the extraction, standardization and transformation of our reliable data sources, validating the integrity of these sources.

Synthesize and popularize technological innovations in order to simplify their understanding and accessibility within the company.

Plan and estimate the circulation and health of information.

Directed the quality control activities of the incoming and outgoing data.

Participate in the implementation of a data governance plan in accordance with our confidentiality policy and policy on the protection of personal information and privacy.

Manage risks and resolve issues or escalate to the next level, as appropriate.

Manage several projects in parallel.

Propose test strategies to arrive at optimal solutions.

Communicated findings to product managers and web developers.

Comfortable working with external partners such as universities.

Provide practical technical expertise, advice and support to members of the business intelligence team.

Qualifications

Requirements / skills sought:

Hold a post-graduate degree in a relevant field (engineering, computer science, etc.) or equivalent professional experience;

At least two years of practical experience with big data ecosystem technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Databricks);

Expertise with Python / SQL languages;

Experience in Scala / JAVA / R, an asset;

Knowledge of Azure Cloud and Azure Data Lake Store services;

Experience in the implementation of an ETL process;

Experience in continuous integration (CI / CD), an asset;

Work experience in Agile process (Scrum / Kanban);

Knowledge of tools and data from Adobe Analytics, Facebook, ComScore, Lotame (DMP) tools;

Comfortable in analyzing complex data from various sources;

Passion for empirical research to answer difficult questions using data;

French and English bilingualism required;

Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.

Please note that this is a 12-month contract position, renewable annually.
