We are seeking a Software Development Manager to work with Oracle Hospitality's Development Team, with focus on integrating country and fiscal requirements in OPERA Cloud. This position is for a highly dynamic individual with a solid technical background who will build and lead the team responsible for the fast-paced development and launch of new guest experience-centric solutions. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for actively participating in developing Oracle Hospitality’s Cloud-Native Applications while guiding our product development teams.
Our successful candidate will be technically adept in cloud technologies, possess a broad combination of skills and experiences, and do not mind rolling up their sleeves to make the team successful. This role requires that you be technically curious with a strong desire to understand how things are built and work. This role also requires a forward-thinking openness to new technologies and approaches while remaining focused on regulatory strength and maximum availability. You will be the forefront leader in finding solutions for the country and fiscal requirements, using the latest cloud technologies.

Essential Functions:

• Strong leadership skills are needed to build and motivate the new team. Manage a team of developers to design and applications using Enterprise Java Architecture and OJET
• Mentored the team of developers on development approaches and practices
• Build partnerships with the business team
• Good hands-on technical skills who enjoy delving into the technical underpinnings of the implementation and contributing on a technical level as required
• Research new frameworks, technologies and recommend for adoption
• Skills to manage and coordinate complex tasks with various stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to effectively interact with sub-teams in all time zones to support a global implementation
• Implement complex cross-functional solutions that are high performing and with excellent quality

Desired Industry Experience:

• The overall experience of 8 to 10 years in software coding and development and 5 to 7 years in managing or leading a software development team
• Experience in building highly scalable solutions
• Experience developing projects with aggressive timelines
• Experience building applications in Enterprise Java Architecture and OJET
• Experience in developing REST APIs
• Exposure to JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and other front-end frameworks
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work in a matrix environment
• Experience in working with Hospitality Software Development
• Experience with integrating fiscal and legal requirements for Hospitality.

Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture.

Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas of sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet Corporate specifications. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
