Our expectations

Reporting to the Digital IT Manager, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Developer to join our dynamic e-commerce team. As a Senior Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our online search technologies, specifically focusing on Lucidworks Fusion. Your expertise in Java, Scala, Spark, and Couchbase will be crucial in implementing efficient and effective search solutions for our e-commerce platform. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and play a key role in enhancing the search capabilities, improving user experience, and driving business growth.

Your role

Develop and maintain online search functionalities utilizing Lucidworks Fusion for our e-commerce platform.
Design and implement scalable and high-performance search solutions to optimize search results, relevance, and performance.
Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Write clean, efficient, and modular code using Java and Scala, adhering to coding best practices and design patterns.
Optimize and enhance existing search functionalities to improve user experience, conversion rates, and overall customer satisfaction.
Integrate search technologies with other components of the e-commerce system, such as databases (Couchbase), APIs, and front-end applications.
Troubleshoot and debug complex issues related to search technologies, identifying and implementing appropriate solutions.
Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, advancements, and emerging technologies in online search and e-commerce domains.
Document designs, guidelines, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintain a comprehensive documentation.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior developers, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.

The qualifications we are looking for

Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience (5 years) working as a Senior Developer or similar role, with a focus on online search technologies and e-commerce systems.
Strong proficiency in Lucidworks Fusion, including its deployment, configuration, and customization.(Mandatory)
In-depth knowledge of Java and Scala programming languages, with hands-on experience in building scalable and high-performance applications.
Proficiency in Apache Spark for data processing and analysis tasks related to online search.
Experience with Couchbase or similar NoSQL databases for efficient data storage and retrieval.
Solid understanding of search algorithms, relevance models, and information retrieval concepts.
Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and frameworks (React, Angular) is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and in a team environment.
Experience with Agile methodologies and toolsets (Atlassian suite, etc.)
