ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY




Reporting to the Senior Design Manager, the Senior Designer provides leadership and manage architectural design projects, from initial concept to final fabrication and installation.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES





Lead and manage architectural design projects, from initial concept to final fabrication and installation. Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, fabricators, and project managers to ensure designs are both creative and feasible within project constraints. Produce detailed drawings, 3D models, and design documents for fabrication and construction teams. Develop and implement design solutions that balance aesthetic goals with technical requirements, such as material selection, structural integrity, and fabrication limitations. Oversee the prototyping and testing of design concepts, ensuring quality and functionality. Review and ensure that design work adheres to industry standards, building codes, and company specifications. Coordinate with the fabrication team to resolve design issues that arise during production. Mentor design team members and provide leadership on design processes, helping them grow professionally and expand their skills. Stay up to date with industry trends, fabrication techniques, and new materials, contributing innovative ideas to the design team. Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and meeting deadlines.

REQUIREMENTS



Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Industrial Design, or a related field. Minimum of 5-7 years of professional design experience in architectural fabrication or a related industry. Proficiency in design software, including AutoCAD, Rhino, SolidWorks, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with parametric design tools is a plus. Strong understanding of architectural materials, fabrication processes, and construction methods. Ability to create detailed technical drawings, construction documents, and 3D models. Proven experience in managing and leading design projects from concept to production. Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with a hands-on approach to design and fabrication challenges. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, fabricators, and multidisciplinary teams. A portfolio demonstrating a high level of design innovation, technical proficiency, and fabrication expertise.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with large-scale or custom architectural installations. Familiarity with CNC machining, 3D printing, and other advanced fabrication techniques. Knowledge of sustainable design practices and environmentally conscious materials. Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
